NYC’s Best Halloween Parties
Halloween in NYC is one of our favorite things ever. This year’s costumes will be all about Wonder Woman, the kids from Stranger Things and Pennywise from IT — I am scared just thinking about that one! Here’s our pick for parties.
1. BangOn!NYC: Warehouse of Horrors featuring Fat Boy Slim // From the producers of Elements Festival comes BangOn!NYC Halloween ‘Warehouse of Horrors’ on October 28 2017. Set inside a massive new East Williamsburg warehouse with soaring ceilings, featuring 2 stages + silent disco, freaky performers, hair-raising interactive art, human bowling, trick-or-treating, mutant art cars, and many more ghastly curiosities to explore!
Our take: This one is sure to be massive and crowded but if you want to dance, get to it!
2. The 6th Annual MoMA PS1 Halloween Ball with Susanne Bartsch: PS2001 Space Oddity – The museum’s galleries will be open for visitors to view special exhibitions, and cash bars will serve beer, wine, cocktails, and a signature punch. Join us for an evening of futuristic fantasy! An otherworldly gathering of sci-fi cyber babes, glam-rock robots, and arty extraterrestrials!
Our take: The New Museum’s member’s Halloween party is on point when it comes to amazing costumes. Leave it up to the creative and artist set right? And the MoMA PS1 bash is no different! Great music too!
3. Phantasmagorey: The Underworld Circus – Descend with Persephone into her chthonic lover’s lair at our Underworld Circus with fellow rabble-rousers Company XIV. At dusk, the haunted floors of the grand DTA, a four-story Victorian manse, will metamorphose into the Halls of Hades for a night of otherworldly performances featuring the wonders of the circus, the sideshow, the opera, the dancehall, and the theatre. Honor the season of wither and celebrate the beauty of the abyss as the veil between the worlds is lifted. Don your most macabre costumery, as the dress code is firmly infernal.
Our take: this event is being thrown by Dances of Vice and they are amazing. This will be everything it’s described to be … and more.
4. The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air 90’s Halloween Party @ Cantina Rooftop NYC – This party harkens back to the ancient days of 90′s R&B, hip-hop & dance music. Music by the legendary & world famous Dj HR Beats. There will be cash prizes for best Male & Female costumes. If you’re looking to score some extra points in that costume contest, consider rocking a stylish Jazzy Jeff outfit.
Our take: this one could be cheesy but that’s part of the fun isn’t it?
