Founded in 2014, Like A Local Tours has worked with celebrities as well as companies from American Express and Heineken to Conde Nast Publications.

Like A Local brings you immersive experiences for tourists and locals alike. We showcase NYC and Brooklyn neighborhoods through food, fashion and art. Every guide is a working actor, so each experience is packed with personality, incredible stories and cultural anecdotes. We are available for large groups, corporate outings and private events but no tour is too small.

GIVING BACK: Like A Local Tours is proud to donate $2 for every ticket sold to a highly rated charity! We are almost giving away $10,000 a year and it feels GOOD!

This year’s charities are: Reach The World, Tourism Cares and Human Impact Institute.

Did you know that the first baseball game was played in Madison Square Park, there are over 40 incredible wineries on the North Fork of Long Island, at the turn of the twentieth century there were 50 breweries in Brooklyn, or that one facility in the middle of Manhattan makes tons of cheese per week? Frequently listed at one of the Top 10 Tour Companies in NYC, our vibe is gourmet food, street art, hidden gems, history, architecture, wine, craft beer … you get it. We are made for locals and tourists alike!

About the Founder, Lauren Beebe

It all started when…

Originally from Wisconsin, Lauren Beebe grew up in Minnesota, Texas and Pennsylvania. Perhaps that’s what started her travel obsession? A graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, Lauren has lived in NYC since 2004 and in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, since 2008. Lauren has over 10 years of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. Passionate about people and knowing the best places to go, as well as possessing an entrepreneurial spirit, it was only a matter of time before Like A Local was formed. She loves hidden bars, flea markets, and ordering too much food. Lauren is licensed tour guide.

Our Team & Guides

All of our guides are licensed, local and experienced. Plus, they are all working actors so every tour comes packed with personality!

Devin is an actor and country music artist who moved to NYC a few years ago from the great city of Nashville.

“As a licensed tour guide, I take guests on informational and entertaining tours around parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan, teaching the history of the area, pointing out historical places, and taking people to the best places to eat and drink! I make them feel like they are seeing the city “like a local” would.”

Originally from Southern Indiana, Jennifer has been a New Yorker for almost 7 years. Jennifer has been a licensed tour guide for over 2 years. She is a professional singer, actor and dancer. She moved to NYC for Broadway. She lives in Brooklyn and loves showing off her knowledge of hidden gems throughout NYC. In her spare time, when not auditioning or giving tours and meeting amazing people, she runs the paths in the parks or takes a picnic (and good music) to sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery and people watching.

Juan is originally from El Salvador, at the age of nine he moved to Los Angeles, and at nineteen he moved to New York City. As an immigrant, Juan has a very unique perspective, amplified by his artistic passions. His passions include dancing, acting, and the city itself. When he is not working or studying, you can find him going to auditions or pursuing other artistic endeavors.

Megan is an actor/comedian who is a passionate story teller with an affinity for obscure history and food. When she’s not tour guiding, you can catch her performing sketch and improv comedy at such venues as Carolines on Broadway and the UCB Theater. Catch her in the upcoming 2018/19 season: Bad Dates.

Josh is a working actor – both theater and film. His passion for the history of New York City and for its people is infectious. When not acting or tour guiding, he loves to travel.

I am a professional storyteller and self-confessed New York nerd. I moved to the city 5 years ago to expand my theatrical career and accidentally got my tour guide license. I love history and architecture. And, as an immigrant, I have a special perspective on NYC. I reveal fun and amazing secrets about NYC on all my tours. Join me to find out why this really is the greatest city in the world.

Hey, I’m Walter: A Brooklyn born (Wyckoff Heights Hospital!), lifelong New Yorker. As I always say at the top of my tours “I’m a native New Yorker, so you’re in good hands!” When I’m not doing tour guide work, I am also an actor and director, doing film and theater all over the city.
