Meaningful Engagement. Tour participants are able to support local, community-based organizations and learn about the movements and people behind them; while experiencing a city or neighborhood on an authentic level.
THE PAST: Founded in 2014, Like A Local Tours is an award-winning woman-owned tour company offering experiences in NYC and Brooklyn. For the past 8 years, we have been operating as a traditional walking tour company. We offer immersive, hands-on food, fashion and art tours in Manhattan and Brooklyn with a focus on working with small business, artisans and employing local tour guides most of whom also work in the arts. We have served thousands of customers over those 8 years and have formed excellent partnerships with business and individuals all over NYC. We have helped increase visitation to off-the-beaten-path neighborhoods throughout New York City and the boroughs and has helped local businesses reap the monetary benefits of tourism.
THE FUTURE: Social impact tours will allow tourism and team-building activities to better align with a company’s goals around purpose, diversity-equity-inclusion, corporate social responsibility, employee engagement and sustainability while partnering with local organizations.
